| I'm going on vacation to Wyoming in the next few weeks. A lot of abuse happened in Wyoming when I was younger and I am so worried that I am going to have flashbacks. I went two years ago and it caused big problems in my life. I want to go see my grandma because she's ninety two years old and I don't think that my kids should miss out on playing and interacting with their cousins since I've thought about going the flash backs have started back up again Any suggestions on what I should do? It is hard to get back in to reality because I tend to dissociate with my flashbacks. |

That's definitely going to be tough to go and do this.
I know people who have gone back to the places where they were either abused or r#ped and they ended up facing what happened and almost felt relief for facing it.
I think it is important to remind yourself where you are in your life now. You may very well get some flashbacks from your childhood, ground yourself, remember that you are safe, you aren't that little girl anymore even though the thoughts and images of that time still are haunting, if that makes any sense.
You will be ok... Try to think of other things and try to keep busy. Who knows you might surprise yourself and not have any fears about going back there.
Let us know how it goes hon, remember you have survived, because you are here. |

| Thank you, my abuser is dead do you think it would be a good idea to find his grave and beary a note by it; saying what he did to my life. I leave the 23 and I hope it goes ok; thanks again. |

I'd probably just avoid doing that, it might cause you too much stress.
I'm glad however to hear that he can no longer hurt you.
Hang in there honey. |
