I have a problem with sleeping. I can't sleep at night anymore. Right now I haven’t slept sense.... around this time yesterday and I find myself sleeping all day until 4 and when I wake up, I'm groggy and then stay another 2 hours in bed. Even when I'm on a normal sleep routine I still wake up groggy and battle with myself to get out of bed. My main question is how do you wake up healthy and normal. What does one have to-do to wake up without being groggy or angry or sad?
I've been really upset lately. Mainly because I had a very lonely/depressing Christmas. I was with a friend me and him went to his place and talked all night about the good ol' days and how things use to be easy and how I've changed a lot. I basically got home around 6 in the morning. Got on the computer (it's already Christmas) got off went to sleep, woke up around 5 in the afternoon then I called my friends. They were all with their families and enjoying their gifts. I home alone almost want to cry. I was craving chedder ruffles so I got my coat on and went to walk down to the store (our car was occupied by my mom) and well everything was closed. I didn't think the grocery store would be closed, but it was. I fell to the grass and started to cry. I was lonely and I didn't get my chips. I walked home and I was in the kitchen sitting there almost lifeless eating cereal. And I kept wondering why I was so sad because last Christmas I wasn't. And it was because last Christmas I had my baby cat with me. He was all that really mattered and no matter what he always put a smile on my face, but when my parents separated, my dad took he cat: [so I was completely lonely.
my depression keeps stalking. I've been in this room for 2 weeks now I can't sleep. I want to sleep. But I don’t' want to sleep until I figure out a way to not be so groggy. I'm researching it and no luck I'm seriously going mad! |

It's depression related, it happens to me swell, and it's a common affect that depression has on people.
If I want to sleep properly I usually drink a load of vodka. Not the best idea, but it gets you to sleep.
You could always try sleeping tablets. |

Hi I am the same with sleep. I either sleep all the time or I zing along with very little sleep.
After going along with this for ages and letting it affect most other areas of my life I went to the docs and got a mild anti depressant which would make me sleep.
It took a while for the cycle to break but it's finally working and I'm getting some more regulated sleep which really does help with the depression.
Sounds like you've got a lot going on dealing with the sadness.. *big hugs*
Have you thought about going to the doctors and getting some mild medication that might help you sleep? Getting a good nights sleep can work wonders for your soul.
Take care and let us know how you go. |

I'm sorry the holidays were so difficult for you. There are many here who can sympathize with that.
Also lots of us with insomnia. I get that way when I'm depressed--can't fall asleep, can't stay asleep.
I know you have strong feelings about medications of any type. Have you tried any of the non-medicinal insomnia suggestions?
Developing a nighttime routine, going to bed at the same time each night, getting up at the same time each day, exercising no later than about 4pm,etc.? |
