| All the beeping and avoidant glances, and fake friendliness. I am nervous walking around in crowds as well. I am afraid of making eye contact, it makes me really anxious. |

I think you will find many people here can relate about super markets in one way or another.
I know I get freaked out at the checkout. I always get this weird phobia about my card declining or something freaks me out every time!
The more we put ourselves in this situation the more we adapt to it...sometimes its the only way around this sort of thing.
Do you suffer anxiety anywhere else? |

Supermarkets scare me. I get 'the fear' thinking about stepping outside let alone going out and into a bustling shop full of strangers who are judging/watching/ready to attack at any moment.
Perfectly reasonable fear! You are so not alone in this, be proud you can make it to the supermarket. |
