I'm not sure if this is a problem or not--
I'm a seventeen year old girl and I assume perfectly healthy. I've never had depression or anything; my sisters have but not me. I've been having a problem for about 5 months. Its so weird--it feels like I'm all out of coordination. For one thing I don't focus at ALL. I daydream CONSTANTLY, like during conversations or driving or sports, which may sound normal, but its weird... for example in English we read some poetry, which is cool because I'm good at English, but I read over the words and like nothing computed. And I'll be talking to someone, and blank out midsentence, and ask what's going on, and I don't even hear what they're saying half the time. I've gotten my ears checked out at my doctors twice, but they say my hearing is fine. Its like everything is white noise. Plus when I talk I'll skip words like 'is', ‘it’, or even bigger words, or pronounce them weird. Like I strain to pronounce the word or something. All of this has really made me sound flaky or stupid, which Is where I've kind of gotten a dumb blonde label on me, but I don't mind it. Or I'll reverse them, like 10 minutes ago I was talking in the car to my dad, and instead of saying "dropped call" I said "cropped dall".I can't speak anymore! And Instead of breaking In a car I accelerated which was really annoying. I also noticed that I couldn’t memorize my dance moves as well as I use to...it sucks. My grades haven't really suffered, and it’s been a great school year, I just don't know why I'm screwing all this up all the time. Is this just senioritis or something I should look into, because it’s constant and really getting on my nerves!!

Hey there. I have the exact same symptoms and have been diagnosed with major depressive disorder. In reading your post I could sense familiarity like you wouldn't believe, I can so relate to you that its not even funny. I know you probably don't want to hear this, but in my opinion you sound like you suffer from depression or another mental illness that causes the same symptoms. Now, no I'm not a psychiatrist, but having suffered from mental illnesses for years I am pretty literate on the subject. I suggest talking to someone(family member, priest, just find somebody,) about your symptoms and see what they can do for you, you might very well need to see a psychiatrist( hey its not the worst thing in the world, trust me) who could give you better info on your condition. One thing I must say is: If you have depression it is not YOU, it is only a part of you, it can be beat just like anything else, you just need help to beat it. If your sisters suffer from depression there's a good chance you will too and I highly doubt that it is senioritis (I graduated last year and still have all of the problems that you mentioned.) BTW yes this does sound like a problem and I would seriously look into it. I can be contacted on aim or email if you just want somebody to talk to who can relate to your problem.

Thanks so much, I will get in touch maybe its depression, but I'm not really sad. I am actually in a pretty good mood, I'm doing powder puff football and I got a new job and I've been happy. I'll still look into it though thanks again!

First of all remember that only a trained mental health professional who has spent time with you can really make a diagnosis.

That said, what you describe could be a number of illnesses, including anxiety, add/adhd, and depression... or it could just be simple stress.
